Scott Larson has specialized in high-technology crime for approximately nine of his ten years in the FBI. He has worked on all aspects of computer crime and computer facilitated crime including intrusions, denial of service, copyright violations, voice mail/pbx fraud, cellular fraud, theft of proprietary information, online child pornography, Internet fraud, extortion, threatening e-mail, infrastructure protection and espionage cases. He also served as one of the original computer forensic examiners for the FBI Laboratory's Computer Analysis and Response team (CART).

Prior to being assigned to the Washington Field Office in 1999, SSA Larson was the program manager for the Training and Continuing Education Unit (TCEU) for the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) at FBIHQ which was responsible for creating and implementing the training program for FBI, NIPC and State and Local law enforcement in computer intrusions and infrastructure protection matters. He also served as the Chief of the FBI's Computer Investigations Unit for approximately thirteen months at FBI Headquarters where he served on the U.S. delegation to the Group of Eight (G8) High Tech Crime Subgroup and served as the President of Interpol's Computer Crime Working Group of the America's.
